Big Baby!!

The top baby is Emma at about 2 months getting a bath, then Sammy at 2 months, then you see big chubby Logan getting his bath!! I had to post some old pictures of my other 2 at his age, they were so tiny. Logan weighs over 10 lbs right now and Emma was 10 lbs at 6 months. I can't get over it.

Still potty training Sam...

Emma has taken special interest in potty training Sam. It is probably because she shares in the treats if he actually goes in the potty. This is what I heard from the bathroom as Sam was sitting on the little potty.

Emma: "Buddy, if you go pee pee you get 1 treat, if you go poopy you get 2 treats and if you go diarrhea you get 5 treats!!"

Future Alumni

We just had lunch with my old volleyball teamate from Houghton, her husband and 2 kids that live only 40 minutes from us. We recently re-connected and got together today for the first time in 10 years! It was so fun.

Logan update

I haven't put any new pictures up of Logan in awhile. That is because I haven't taken any (oops, sorry third child!). He is getting rather chubby, eating at the all night milk buffet. He is now smiling a little and is getting quite cute. Emma asked me today if we were keeping the baby forever. I asked if she wanted to and she said, "Well, I guess so, but I really want a girl baby and we can name her Strawberry Shortcake." Sorry Logan!

Emma: "Can I have more cereal?"

Me: "No, we are having dinner in an hour and you won't be hungry."

Emma: "Okay...calm down mommy, you just need to relax."

Is that really what I sound like? Scary.

Potty training Sam

So, sammy is well on his way to being potty trained. If you think I am absolutely insane for doing this with a 2 year old boy and a newborn, this wasn't my idea. Emma thinks that it is the coolest thing that sam learns how to use the potty. She gets a treat every time he goes, so all day long I hear, "Come on buddy, let's sit on the potty, you'll get a treat..." So, he actually goes. Yesterday we had poopy on the potty as well. He has graduated to big boy "undie pants" as emma calls them. I can't say it is making my life any easier right now, but, I guess I just have to embrace it!

Haircut!

This morning, during craft time, Emma and sam decided to cut their own hair. When I asked Emma why, she said, "I saw sammy do it and his looked so nice, short and curly, so I did my own."

Thankfully, a very good hairstylist fixed it!

Three kids!

So, the bottom line is that having 3 kids isn't that much more work than having 2, especially if the older ones are not yet in school. I think the fact that none of my children will be in kindergarten for another 2 years is just crazy and that if you need more than one carseat at time, you are certifiable. So, that makes me crazy at baseline. However, the older ones can play together and the baby really just sleeps, eats and cries. I think the third child invariably spends more time in a swing/car seat than the other two.

Of note, about 30 seconds after the above sandbox picture was taken Emma dumped buckets of sand on sam's head. True to his boyish nature, he giggled instead of screamed and just let her do it. That was his second bath of the morning. At that exact same time, Emma removed all of her clothes and proceeded to run around the house yelling, "I'm naked! I'm naked!" and of course, Logan woke up ready to eat. That's when it gets complicated...
